Career Development 2201

Community Contribution

All senior high students are required to complete 30 hours of community contribution in order to meet graduation requirements. The community contribution component of Career Development 2201 is intended to enhance students’ awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and of the contributions they can make in supporting and strengthening communities. It also helps students build on their own personal strengths, and increase their identity within the community. The link below is to the Department of Education site which provides more information in detail.

Without the completion of the 30 hour community contribution component of the Career Development Course, your son/daughter will not receive credit in the course. As a result, he/she will not successfully complete high school, and reach graduation status. The completion of the 30 hour community contribution is also a requirement to attend Senior Prom.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s career teacher or the main office.
